Thermography

Thermography is a method of whole body assessment that works as a diagnostic aid for physicians. It is a safe, non-invasive way to detect inflammations, blockages, possible toxins or damaged cells even before they are a severe problem. Regulation thermography tells us about the health of the body by measuring temperature changes at specific points on the skin. It has been found that the health of an organ impacts the health of the skin overlying it, meaning that if we detect irregularities in the skin (in this case measured by temperature changes) it gives us insight into the pathology that may be affecting the underlying structure.

Detect an issue before it becomes a problem:

  • Breast disease
  • Vascular disease
  • Arthritis
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Thyroid conditions
  • Stroke
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Gallbladder disease

Your skin’s temperature is influenced by the way your nervous system  responds to being exposed to cold air. When this happens, your nervous system sends signals that travel from your spinal cord to your organs to your skin’s capillary beds, changing the temperatures of these regions.

What thermography does is compare the temperature of your skin before you were exposed to the cold with the temperature of your skin after it was exposed to the cold. This comparison has proven to correlate imbalances often related to degenerative or inflammatory conditions.

Who Can Benefit?

Everyone! Since thermography is a non-invasive, non-harmful process, everyone can be helped by having a thermography screening. The insight you can get into your health is advantageous at any age and can help you detect health conditions while they are still in their early stages.

Simple procedure, fast results

Not knowing can be infuriating and stressful. That’s why, when you come in for a thermogram, you won’t have to wait days or even weeks before knowing your results.

What to Expect

When you come in to Lipogenex, your exam will be conducted in a comfortable environment. Upon arrival, you will be instructed to wait 15 minutes in our front wait room to become acclimated to the office temperature. You will then be taken back to our exam room to begin your screening. As the exam begins, you will be instructed to remove clothing from the waist up. A lightweight probe will be used to measure your skin’s temperature at 90-120 different points on your body that lie between your head and pelvis.

The results are documented in a graph, which reveals the reactions of the body, the functional health of your various organs and their neurological control systems. This graph along with a full analysis report is sent to Dr. Karampahtsis to review and discuss the results with you during your consultation.

Come prepared for the procedure

Ensure your treatment is as effective as possible by following certain guidelines for the day of the thermogram:

  • No smoking, coffee, or black tea
  • Avoid extremely hot or cold drinks
  • Avoid showering or bathing (it’s okay to shower the night before)
  • Avoid use of cosmetics or body lotion
  • Avoid exercise or use the sauna
  • And in the 24 hours before the treatment, please stop all homeopathic remedies, herbal supplements, regulative therapies, and consumption of alcohol.
